• It seems like everything Obama does or says is wrong according to some members of the republican party. I voted for Obama and keep hearing the fear that comes from republicans about his policies.

What would a republican do RIGHT NOW? What would your republican idol Ronald Reagan do right now since you all have all the answers?

  • raising taxes and narrowing trade is in the least interest of the people.
    thats obamas plans

  • I think America need a good wake up call. We have to stop living above our means and only spend what we have.

  • FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY> Living within our means! I personally am sick of both party's. Neither one says what needs to be said, and that is the gravy train is over. The government needs to cut spending, pay down the debt. Which in turn will increase the buying power of the dollar!

And for anyone to thumbs down fiscal responsibilty......just consider yourself part of the fukn problem we face now.

  • I was wondering when we are to see some change. Take a look at all the appointees and tell me it isn't the same old politics as usual!!

  • Slash statutory tax rates and cut govt spending. Enough said.

  • what america needs right now is a enema so we can do away with all the BS in washington dc

  • It was Reaganomics that got this whole mess started. He was the one who did away with all the usury laws in this country - Before Reagan, anyone who charged 25% interest was considered a loan shark!

When have you ever seen anyone rich actually roll up their sleeves and do any real work? They make their fortunes off the labor of others through "investments" They only make charitable contributions to get a tax break, not because they actually give a damn about anyone else!

  • Mmmhmm....I say the SAME thing.

  • America needs to shut up Sarah Palin, aka, turkey killer.

  • Tax cuts. Smaller government. No bailouts. And thugs like Pelosi to be voted out.

  • How would THEY know? They caused the disaster we're in right now and don't even see why Obama was the right choice.

  • Do not insult us by saying we all have the right answers but rather look at your radical candidate who is ushering in another era of Clintonistas.... America needs a man with courage, experience and love of country, all traits BO is sorely lacking! good luck to all who voted for this dilletante because you will need it.

  • Your theory is flawed. No one has said they have all the answers. And no, not everything he says or does is wrong--but we are a little concerned that he is delivering exactly what we feared when in reality, we hoped he was just lying.

  • a new president elect would be nice

  • Hi UT. To answer the question "What does america need right now"... it would be to set partisanship aside for a change and rally behind this new president. He was not my choice for countless reasons, though he has my support, and I hope he proves to be the most remarkable president in American history. This is my country and I love it dearly. I have investments here and his policies will effect them. It would be counter-productive for any of us to wish him ill in the face of a looming financial melt-down. This melt-down is deeply systemic and clearly is a world event which has never been seen before by anyone living.

Never before in history has the decisions made by an American president carried such weight world wide, regarding the financial health of all nations. Much balances on the correct policy decisions of this new president, and we should all be hoping he succeeds beyond our expectations. This does not mean he gets a free pass... we will keep a hard eye on his performance over your first 100 days.

I wish you success Mr Obama, as I wish America well. I hope everyone on this site has a great Thanksgiving. Despite our problems we still have much to be thankful about.

  • I am a Democrat and did not vote for Obama.

They should Recall the bail outs.

They should loan the auto industry money to prevent 3 million more unemployed.

That will be the initial numbers, once the chain reaction gets going it will double that.

What they are doing now, it seems like that is exactly what they want to happen. that is what makes it scary.

The bridge thing is novel but it will not help, with vast unemployment, Stressing the government for more money.

would make more people dependent on the government, which is devastating to the country.

They seem to be going about it backwards.

  • What I personally need is for people to shut the eff up about having our first African American president. I think it's absolutely ridiculous that people keep harping on that. WHO GIVES A CRAP IF HE'S BLACK? That won't make him a better president.
Now, don't get me wrong. I'm not saying he won't be a good president. I personally didn't vote for him, and I was pretty disappointed that McCain didn't win, but I'm going to give Obama a chance before deciding whether or not he's a good president. I am just sick and tired of people caring more about the fact that he's black than about any of his policies.

And to whoever gave this a thumbs down: are you saying Obama WILL be a good pres. just because he's black? If that's not racist, I don't know what is.

  • Get rid of these non recourse sub prime loans...

and stop giving the motor industry money, when they ****** up.... they're fault, not the govenrments. However obama is a socialist tool, so he will need to start believing in a concept called capitalism... Ups and downs...

  • Less Government control over us, less taxes on everyone, guidelines and rules about what our tax money can be spent on, more protection for our people, wars that end in less than 24 hours because we can just fly planes over the country we attack and bomb the whole bunch of them, less money being paid to the CEO's of big companies that end up bankrupt because they blow through money like toilet paper, no bailout for companies who screw themselves. No abortion, no gay marriage. No more Free trade Agreement.

  • Why do you care what WE think NOW? Libs have never listened before, and Reagan made this country great again in spite of them. Ok, here it is:

    SMALL GOVERNMENT

    LOWER TAXES

    CUT GOVERNMENT SPENDING

    PROMOTE EDUCATION AND SELF RELIANCE

This isn't rocket science, but the libs want the government to be mommy and daddy.

You have your new god, and I intend to derive a great deal of satisfaction seeing him break all his promises and fall flat on his face.

  • Use some damn common sense, that's what.

  • First there should be no bailout of anybody. Freddie Mae and Freddie Mac should file bankruptcy and be folded. There should be an investigation and hearings into what policies and who caused the collapse.

The car companies should file chapter 11 and restructure to bring down their manufacturing costs so they can be competetive.

Since Democrats have been whining for 8 years about companies moving from the US and even when they had the power have done nothing in the last two years to change it. The answer since we have the second highest corporate taxes in the world would be to lower them. This was recently done in Ireland and they are experiencing a booming economy.

The Bush tax cuts should be made permanent and additional tax cuts should be implemented. Even Obama has acknowledged that tax increases right now would hurt the economy.

This carbon credit and cap and trade BS should be swept into the trash can where it belongs and then forgotten.

There should be no new spending programs and spending should be cut where ever possible. Can anyone explain to me why it is that Democrats have been whining for 8 years about deficit spending but are now saying it is OK? Barney Franks has said that we should not worry about deficit spending!

Our borders should be closed and illegals sent home when we find them. Any state or local government that gives drivers licenses or ID cards to illegals should receive no Federal money until the practice is stopped.

You should have to show ID in order to register to vote and to vote. Early voting, and being alowed to vote on the same day you register should be illegal.

The regulations and restrictions on oil exploration, oil drilling, and the building of refineries should be remove.

  • Right now, America needs a congress that doesn't refuse to work with the President. Right now, Americans need to stop using a horrible necessity like war as a negative campaigning technique. Right now, Americans need to deport illegal aliens who work for illegal wages and ruin the economy, all while not paying taxes. Right now, Americans need to figure out why we are allowed to kill unborn babies but not convicted serial killers. Right now, America needs to stop arguing over whether it's ethical to pretend to drown war criminals, while the Jihads slaughter women and children by the hundreds. Right now, Americans need to take responsibility for themselves and stop relying on the liberal crutch that so many are used to.

In the word of my republican idol, Ronald Reagen: "The government can't help you with your problems... The government is the problem"

  • Obama is going to do just the opposite that Ronald Reagan would do in this situation. Obama will use the government like FDR did to get us out of the Great Depression but that is only a point of view. Many historians see FDR as prolonging the it by depressing the market.

We need tax cuts on business, and all individuals which include every tax bracket, and not just the bottom. Trickle up economics is spreading the wealth in a form of Marxism, and it does not work.

I see whole industries that will crumble under Obama, and the media trying its best to blame Bush for it. Well it many work for a while but in the long run, both the media and the democrats will pay the piper with the greatest republican landslide victory since Ronald Reagan in the 1980â ™s.

  • Ronald Reagen isn't here to help them...

  • Regan said government IS the problem.

Many democrats tout that Bush's spending is out of control (which it is) but Obama wants to drastically increase spending.

Raising taxes will NOT create jobs.

Giving bailouts only moves debt of failed businesses to taxpayers. In either case its still a draw on the economy.

Raising taxes will cause businesses to move overseas.

Unions have pushed artificial wages from companines. Obama will not address this portion of the auto industries problems. Its great for votes to only blame the big corporations and greedy ceo's but he won't touch unions.

Ducking and running from Iraq too soon is a bad idea.

  • DAMN this is a good question!!

I going to love these answers.

  • It's true, they mention civilian national security force, but forget that Martial law has been implemented by Bush. That is a problem even Ron Paul knows that.

  • America needs a leader who has experience (John McCain) and who knows economics REALLY well (Mitt Romney) and some one who can help fix up america (Rudy Giuliani) and also someone who can deal with FP (Foreign Policy) (Alot of people are qualified) and most of all we need someone who is ready to LEAD (the Republican party)

but definitely what we dont need is someone who wil not give his proof of birth in Hawaii (Obama) someone who has amazingly high experience on doing nothing and an amazingly low experience on doing something (Hillary Clinton) OMG why am i going on to a lib about this they will never become sencial anyway we need some one who can really change america and that would be us the republican party and the only reason Obama won is the anti-bush vote thats all and trust me i hated bush but he was our only choice i mean comon al gore he is a moron with GLOBAL WARMING please what a load and John Kerry omg just listen to him he makes no sence so if you have anymore complaints of the smart party just email me maxpower1997@yahoo.com

  • heres one thing i'd stop doing

trying to compare this to the great depression and stop comparing obama to FDR

yeah because honestly since the holidays are coming the malls are packed doesn't look like we're in a recession at all! i had to circle around the mall's parking lot for nearly half an hour trying to find parking

  • A true Republican would stop government spending and decrease it. They would stop bailing out these companies and let the free market decide which companies will prosper and which ones will fade away. They would end unnecessary wars. They would stop welfare spending and encourage people to join the workforce. They would put an end to government interference in our personal lives.

I've yet to meet a true Republican.
